Epic has dropped coverage for dental and other dental products from its insurance plans.
Epic plans to drop the dental coverage in some states starting in February.
The news comes after the insurance company announced in October that it would be dropping the dental and eye care coverage from its plans starting in 2018.
Epic said it would continue to offer coverage for the following dental products, which include: Orthodontics: Orthotic implants and orthotic braces.
Anecdotal reports have suggested that some of these implants and braces may not be covered under the policies, according to The Hill.
Insurers are expected to make a decision on whether or not to continue to cover the products at a later date.
Orthotic devices are a popular dental treatment option for people with osteoarthritis and other conditions.
They can help reduce pain and swelling, improve coordination and improve vision.
The device, which typically comes in a tube, can also help prevent pain in other conditions, including osteoarthropathy.
Other dental products may also be covered, but Epic did not specify which ones.
The company’s announcement was first reported by CNBC.
