KY, U.S.A. — The Kentucky Department of Insurance said Monday that the state’s insurance department said there were more than 9,000 claims related to the November 2015 explosion of a BP oil spill near Lexington.
The explosion killed six people and injured more than 500, according to the state.
A month after the blast, the state recorded $1.3 billion in liability claims from the disaster, but there are likely many more.
